Nancy Jeanne Cleary, 76, of Coventry Township, Ohio died peacefully on Sunday, October 2, 2022 while traveling with family. Nancy was born June 12, 1946 to Milan and Hedwig “Jean” Kronenthal in Akron, Ohio, the oldest of three children. She graduated from Central High School in 1964 and received her bachelor of arts degree from Akron University in 1974.

Nancy enjoyed a long career in sales and marketing, often at the forefront of innovative products and industries. Prior to her career in sales, Nancy worked at Weaver Industries until 1980 assisting individuals with disabilities in their vocational training and self-sufficiency. In 1984, she worked for Peck Water Systems providing household water filtration systems. She later worked as pharmaceutical sales rep until 2003, after which she represented health supplement companies. Nancy lived much of her life among family in the greater Akron and Green areas, also spending cherished time on Florida’s gulf coast. Renowned for her unflappable spirit of joy in life, even until her last days Nancy answered any inquiry that she was “wonderful and perfect” no matter how she was doing.

Nancy is survived by her son Jeffery Lucas of Green, Ohio; daughter Jeannie Hopkins of Coventry, Ohio; grandchildren Christopher, Michael and Valerie Lucas, and Matthew, Tala and Faith Hopkins; nephew Mark (Jeannie) Kronenthal; niece Mary Beth (Marty) List; beloved ex-husband, Jack Cleary; aunt, Esther Rice; and many other loving cousins, grand-nieces and nephews, and relatives. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, younger brothers Mark Kronenthal and Milan Kronenthal, and beloved grandson Alexander Lucas.

Funeral service will be held at 7 P.M. on Tuesday, October 11, 2022, at Schermesser Funeral Home, 600 E. Turkeyfoot Lake Road, Akron, Ohio 44319.
